A Musica Historica együttes Budavár tövében, a Krisztinavárosban működik 34 esztendeje.
Kezdettől fogva fontosnak tartják a középkori világi zene népszerűsítését, amihez a budai Vár elsőrangú helyszín.
E falak között sokféle muzsika felcsendült a XIII. század végétől, s ma is kiváló akusztikát, hangzó elmélyedést ígér a közönségnek például a Vármúzeum Gótikus Lovagterme.

A koncert Mátyás király korától (1458–1490) a 16. század végéig ad ízelítőt a reneszánsz kor magyarországi zenéjéből.
Nemcsak reneszánsz kompozíciók alkotják a műsort, hiszen több stílus élt egymás mellett párhuzamosan e korszakban. Így helyet kaptak a késő középkori egyszólamúság emlékei és 15–16. századi táncdallamok is, amelyek népzenei ihletésűek.
Mátyás és a Jagellók budai udvarában több jelentős zeneszerző alkotott (pl. Jacques Barbireau, Johannes Stockem), az ő műveik mellett az itáliai, német és cseh források néhány gyöngyszeme is felcsendül.
A Buda elfoglalása (1541) körüli időszakot Tinódi Sebestyén és Bornemisza Péter énekei, illetve a kor magyar és lengyel tánczenéje idézi (Izabella királyné emlékére), köztük az Európa-szerte ismert magyar hajdútáncok. A koncert után hangszerbemutató beszélgetésre várjuk az érdeklődőket.

The Musica Historica orchestra has been operating for 34 years at the foot of Buda Castle, in Krisztinaváros.
From the very beginning, they have been committed to promoting medieval secular music, and Buda Castle is a prime location for this.
Within these walls, a wide variety of music has been performed since the end of the 13th century, and the Gothic Knights' Hall of the Castle Museum, for example, still offers excellent acoustics and aural immersion.

The concert gives a taste of Hungarian Renaissance music from the time of King Matthias (1458-1490) to the end of the 16th century.
The programme is not limited to Renaissance compositions, as several styles coexisted during this period. Thus, there is also a place for late medieval monophony and 15th and 16th century dance tunes inspired by folk music.
Several important composers (e.g. Jacques Barbireau, Johannes Stockem) worked at the court of Matthias and the Jagellos in Buda, and some gems from Italian, German and Czech sources are also performed alongside their works.
The period around the conquest of Buda (1541) is evoked by the songs of Sebestyén Tinódi and Péter Bornemisza, and by Hungarian and Polish dance music of the period (in memory of Queen Isabella), including the Hungarian hajdút dances known throughout Europe. The concert will be followed by an instrument demonstration talk.
